Recharge your fitness goals!

Last week, I decided to write a blog for our site.  It was the end of the month and I was wondering if anybody had stuck to their New Year’s resolutions.  According to StatisticBrain.com, the number 1 New Year’s resolution for 2015 was to lose weight and number 5 was to stay fit and healthy.  Were these a part of your resolutions?  Did you stick to them?  Only 8% of the people who make resolutions are successful in achieving them, so maybe we should revisit our goals and keep our eyes on the prize!

Anything is possible when you set your mind to it and in the end, improving your health is a GREAT goal!  Take it from me, your friendly dietitian.  Find ways now to incorporate physical activity and adopt a more healthful lifestyle.  It will pay off later.  And guess what else?  It was Flex Friday!  I wanted to give a big thanks to this UTSA student who volunteered countless hours of his own time volunteering here at Meals on Wheels and helping me with data input.  The Food Preference Survey data is now entered so it’s time for me to do some statistics and make some menu changes.

I hope everyone had a happy and healthy weekend and enjoyed the Super bowl.  It’s time to get back to business.  When I’m not at Meals on Wheels, you’ll find me at the gym- hope to see you there!

  1. That’s great Jim, congratulations! I agree, it’s never too late to start exercising, whether its a mile or a marathon! There are so many benefits to exercise, I wish you continued success!

  2. I am a 63 year old volunteer driver for Meals on Wheels and an avid runner. My goal this year was to run a half marathon in less than 1 hour and 50 minutes. I accomplished my goal at the 3M half marathon in Austin with a time of 1:49:50. It’s never too late to start exercising.
